NORTH CENTRAL (PLATEAU STATE)

As the request for looted funds by President Buhari intensifies, Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong has issued a two-week ultimatum to all government officials in the administration of former Governor Jonah Jang to return stolen monies or face the wrath of the law.

To achieve this, a 12-man transition committee has been set up under the leadership of Deputy Governor Sonni Tyoden. The committee had once declared that between May 2007 and May 2015, the sum of N 525.35 billion was the total income accuring to the state, including statutory allocations, but the state, according to the members was left with a debt of N222.3 billion by May 2015. The two-week ultimatum ends on the 25th of August.

We are monitoring the developments.
