As part
of its effort to ensure speedy delivery of good governance to the people of the
state, the Imo state government is set to send its top Civil Servants to Singapore
on a training programme for optimum service delivery in the civil
service.

Reports
quoting the state Head of Service, Calistus Ekeuze, said the move was
to ensure that the state has trained manpower in the top echelon to drive the
workforce in line with modern realities.

However,
it is necessary to ask how will the state which cannot pay its workforce
monthly salaries foot the bill of sending its Permanent Secretaries abroad
for training when the Nation has training Institutes like Administrative Staff College
and others in the land.
